My Top Five Cost of Living Solutions to take to Canberra
Housing
I'll advocate for long-term federal investment in public and genuinely affordable housing. I support stronger national renter protections and increased funding for frontline services that support women and families at risk of homelessness.
Energy Bills
I’ll back a rapid but responsible shift to renewables to bring down household energy bills over time. I support targeted assistance to help households and businesses electrify—through solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, and full electrification of homes and workplaces. I’m also calling for a fairer share of our gas supply to be reserved for domestic use, to help stabilise prices as coal plants retire and the transition to clean energy continues.
Groceries
I’m calling for stronger regulation of the big supermarkets to tackle price gouging and restore fairness across the food supply chain. I support measures that protect farmers, boost transparency, and ensure Australians can access fresh, affordable food.
Healthcare
I’ll advocate for better Medicare funding so rebates cover more of the real cost of seeing a doctor. I’ll push for dental care to be gradually included in Medicare and for mental health services to be better funded and more accessible—especially in rural and regional areas.
Tax Reform
I believe our tax system needs an overhaul to make it fairer and more balanced. I’ll push to ease the tax burden on earned income—so people aren’t penalised for working—while ensuring big corporations and wealthy investors pay their fair share. A fairer tax system should fund the essential services we all rely on and help close the growing wealth gap.
